Dr. Richard Robinson

Dr. Richard Robinson is the clinic owner at Altitude Collaborative Health. He works collaboratively with the rest of our therapists and doctors to provide the highest standard of care not only to treat and rehabilitate injuries, but help the patient prevent injuries and ultimately help them optimize their performance.

Dr. Robinson is from Victoria British Columbia, and was originally interested in sports broadcast journalism. Dr. Robinson changed careers in the second year at the University of Victoria when he had a stubborn injury and it was only until a chiropractor’s treatment that the problem was resolved. It was that experience that motivated Dr. Robinson to change careers and stay involved in sports as a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Having achieved his Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo, Dr. Robinson went on to obtain his Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, California. Along the way, he studied athletic therapy and also received his certification in massage therapy.

With a goal of treating athletes at the highest level, he gained extensive experience in the field of sports chiropractic by helping create what became the premier student sports chiropractic program in the United States. Since then he has achieved certifications, which include the international chiropractic sports sciences diploma, certified chiropractic sports physician, certified strength and conditioning specialist, active release certification, Graston technique certification, contemporary medical acupuncture from McMaster University, and Frequency Specific Microcurrent certification among other specialized techniques.

Dr. Robinson has worked with many professional athletes and amateur athletes and was a member of the Canadian Olympic Medical Teams in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2014, and 2022. He has worked as a contractor with the National Sports Center and with many National Sport Organizations including the Canadian Freestyle Ski Team, Speed Skating Canada, Hockey Canada, Bobsled Skeleton Canada, Canadian Cycling Association, and Alpine Canada among other national teams.

Dr. Robinson is also adjunct faculty of Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, California where he has taught for 26 years, and the University of Western States in Portland Oregon. He proudly served for six years on the University of Waterloo alumni council.

By applying his renowned experience to all of his clients, no matter their goals or injuries, Dr. Robinson leaves each client knowing their optimal physical condition is being looked after in every possible way.

Dr. Chris Hildebrandt

Dr. Hildebrandt enjoyed hockey, biking, and snowboarding while growing up in Calgary. His aggressive participation in these activities led him to appreciate the benefits of chiropractic care which drove his pursuit of related training.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary he moved to Portland Oregon where he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Chiropractic studies at the University of Western States (UWS). Through additional studies, he also achieved a Master of Science in Sports Medicine from UWS. The Sports Medicine program provided the opportunity to work extensively with athletes of all ages in a variety of sports.

Dr. Hildebrandt strives to provide his patients with the highest quality of care which will lead to health and performance improvements and to a higher quality of life.  To achieve these objectives, he continues to develop his professional skills. He has received further training through the Motion Palpation Institute as well as Complete Concussion Management (CCMI) and is certified in the Active Release Technique (ART). He blends a combination of chiropractic manipulation, instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy, and ART to develop a treatment plan that will enable his patients to return to the level of activity that they desire.

Dr. Hildebrandt offers concussion baseline testing and concussion treatment.

During his spare time, Dr. Hildebrandt continues to enjoy a variety of sporting activities. He is also an accomplished glider pilot and has experienced the joy of soaring with eagles in the mountains of B.C.

Dr. Brody Thomson

Dr. Brody Thomson, a Calgary native, discovered his passion for sports and physical activity at an early age. This enthusiasm led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Saskatchewan, where he excelled academically and athletically, competing in both football and track and field for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.

His personal experience with sports injury rehabilitation introduced him to chiropractic care, igniting a deeper interest in human biomechanics and the science of healing. This passion drove him to further his education in California, where he completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic West, earning a clinical excellence award for his dedicated patient care.

Dr. Thomson specializes in providing comprehensive care for both spinal conditions and extremity issues such shoulders, knees, ankles, etc. His treatment approach combines manual chiropractic techniques with soft tissue therapy, patient education, and customized exercise plans. He also utilizes advanced modalities such as shockwave therapy and Graston technique, staying at the forefront of the latest research and innovations to enhance patient recovery and optimize outcomes.

Beyond his professional life, Dr. Thomson is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, camping, and fishing. A lifelong lover of sports, he brings the same passion and dedication to his personal pursuits as he does to his chiropractic care—ensuring that his patients receive comprehensive, effective treatment tailored to their unique needs.

Dr. Pranavi Thampi

Pranavi is a zealous Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine/Registered Acupuncturist and a Sports Registered Massage Therapist.

Sports RMT
Pranavi has built quite a reputation for her use of strength during deep tissue treatments that her patients rave about. Her style is not a typically fluffy, spa like approach but rather a more biomechanical, investigative, result orientated treatment. That being said, she also naturally attracts the elderly and adapts pressure depth according to the patient’s needs. It is her dream to open a treatment center solely to cater to the elderly population. Since graduating, she has been working at a Sports Medicine Clinic and is experienced at treating Triathletes, Geriatrics, Children, Pre and Post Partum, pre and post-surgeries, whiplash and more. Soon after graduating, she also started to supervise at the school clinic, outreach events, proctored exams and was also a Teachers Assistant for Biomechanics at Mount Royal University. Initially, she came to Canada to pursue Medical Esthetics and was told by many to consider Massage Therapy. She was told she has “the touch” and took the advice given to her seriously. During her studies at MRU she was awarded Massage Therapy Program Champion.

Chinese Medicine/ Acupuncture
Pranavi decided to study further and took up Chinese Medicine. She also was the only student in her batch to go to China (pre-COVID). She grew as a therapist and learnt a lot by visiting and interning at Chinese Medicine Hospitals and Universities. Having a keen interest in Auricular Acupuncture and Moxibustion some common conditions she can address are:
• Chronic Pain
• Sleep disorders
• Digestive concerns
• Mental Health issues like Depression, Anxiety, Eating Disorders, Addictions, PTSD etc.

What would an ideal treatment be like?
For the best outcome it is recommended to book a Massage and Acupuncture combination with her. This seems to have had lasting effects for patients post treatment.
