Originally from Tokyo, Tomo moved to Calgary in 2006 to pursue her ongoing interest in promoting optimal health in people’s lives through movement therapies. Tomo is a physical therapist, and Pilates Instructor with over 15 years of experience teaching movement and enjoys being physically active.
Tomo received her Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from Colorado State University, United States and her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta, Canada.
Tomo has additional certification and training including Functional Dry Needling (FDN) Level 1 & 2, Level 1 Manual Therapy with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopedic Division, STOTT PILATES® Certification in mat and equipment-based Pilates, The Running Clinic’s specialized training course on the prevention of running injuries and Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT).
She draws from her diverse background and knowledge of the human body to help those rehabilitating from injuries, as well as in the interest of providing the most comprehensive program that will help patients prevent future injuries and achieve their optimal health and performance.
